Privacy

Short version: you give me an email address. I use it only for what you signed up for, I never sell or share it, and you can leave whenever you want. If you buy the book, that purchase runs through a separate store — I never see your payment details.

What is collected

Your email address — when you sign up for the free "Seven Days of Already Ready" series or the weekly letter. That's the only personal data I hold.
No tracking pixels on this page, no analytics cookies, no third-party advertising.

What it's used for, and on what basis

The emails — the "Seven Days of Already Ready" series (seven entries, one a morning, plus a closing note) and, after that, the weekly Don't Mind Rick letter and news around the book launch. Roughly one email a week, more only in the two weeks around launch. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.

Buying the book

The book will be sold at launch through several external stores — Gumroad (the DRM-free edition), the Amazon Kindle store, and others such as Apple Books and Kobo. Whichever store you buy from is the seller: it handles your name, payment and delivery under its own privacy policy, not this one. I only receive aggregated sales figures — never your payment details.

Who processes it

The free series and the weekly letter run on Ghost, which uses Mailgun for delivery.
Your address lives on these providers' servers under their processing agreements. It is never sold, shared, or used for anything beyond what's described here.

Transfer outside the EU

Mailgun is based in the United States, so your email is processed there. If you buy the DRM-free edition, Gumroad (also US-based) processes your purchase. These transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses as the safeguard required under the GDPR.

How long

As long as you're subscribed. Unsubscribe (link in the footer of every email) and your address is removed from the active list. Want it gone entirely? Mail rick@dontmindrick.com and it will be deleted.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can, at any time, request access to your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its use, ask for a copy to take elsewhere, and withdraw any consent you gave. Just mail rick@dontmindrick.com.

If you think your data isn't handled properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
